On the afternoon of December 25, 2025, the 7th Session of the 8th Council and the 11th Session of the 8th Standing Council of China Battery Industry Association (CIBA) were successfully held in a combined online and offline format. More than 140 representatives attended the meeting, including standing council members, council members, supervisors, and representatives of branch organizations of the association. The meeting was presided over by Ma Dejun, Vice Chairman of China Battery Industry Association.

All participating representatives jointly studied the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference. By watching learning videos, they deeply understood the Party Central Committee's scientific judgment on the current economic situation and the comprehensive deployment of economic work for 2026. The meeting emphasized that the requirements put forward by the Central Economic Work Conference, such as green development and cultivation of new-quality productive forces, have pointed out the direction for the battery industry. In the future, the industry will focus on technological innovation, tackle key technologies such as solid-state batteries, strictly adhere to the bottom line of quality and safety, standardize the order of market competition, promote high-quality development with practical actions, and contribute to the construction of a new energy system.

Chairman Liu Baosheng delivered the 2025 Work Report and 2026 Work Plan of China Battery Industry Association to the meeting. The report comprehensively reviewed the association's work in 2025 in aspects such as strengthening the leadership of Party building, serving government decision-making, guiding industry self-discipline, advancing digital and intelligent transformation, deepening industry research, improving the standard system, building service platforms, strengthening risk early warning, enhancing scientific and technological services, and optimizing internal management. The report pointed out that the battery industry maintained a steady growth momentum as a whole in 2025, with the expected main business income of industrial enterprises above designated size exceeding 2.6 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of over 20%, demonstrating strong industrial resilience and vitality. Facing the new situation and new tasks, in 2026, the association will closely focus on national strategies such as manufacturing power, transportation power, and energy security, and focus on promoting the following work: continuously strengthening the leadership of Party building and the construction of its own governance capacity; building consensus in the industry and further expanding the work of "anti-involution" and the construction of industry self-discipline; steadily advancing the pilot and standard formulation of the battery digital ID (passport) system; meticulously building influential industry exchange platforms and brand events; strengthening research on industrial policies and connection with the 15th Five-Year Plan, and deepening international exchanges and cooperation; fully serving technological innovation and the intelligent and green transformation of the industry; comprehensively improving the efficiency of the "four services", and working hand in hand with the entire industry to stride into a new stage of higher-quality, more efficient and more sustainable development.

The meeting deliberated and adopted the proposal on adjusting the candidates for the Vice Chairmen of the 8th Council. In accordance with the "Measures for the Administration of the Tenure of Responsible Persons of National Industry Associations and Chambers of Commerce" and the articles of association of the association, Vice Chairman Wang Jinliang will no longer hold the relevant positions due to exceeding the age limit for tenure, and the relevant procedures will be completed for the record as required.

This council meeting was efficient and pragmatic, successfully completing all the scheduled agendas and clarifying the association's work direction for next year. Guided by the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, China Battery Industry Association will work hand in hand with all member units, firmly grasp the primary task of high-quality development, focus on technological innovation and industrial coordination, jointly respond to risks and challenges, participate in global competition and cooperation with a more open attitude, and strive to write a new chapter for the strong and resilient development and future leadership of China's battery industry.
